Warning: Dead to Me spoilers
Netflix thrives on shows that qualify as binge-worthy, and few of its original series fell into that category as much as the addicting black comedy Dead to Me.
Over two seasons, the show has had more twists and turns than a roller coaster, with shocking revelations and offbeat events occurring in almost every episode.
And Netflix has announced that the show will return for another season with stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as Jen and Judy, two over 40s who form an unlikely friendship.
It has been confirmed that the Netflix series has been extended for a third season, but with the bittersweet caveat that this will also be the final season.
From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the series I wanted to make, said series creator Liz Feldman. And it was an incredible gift. Telling a story born of grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a person.
I will forever be indebted to my criminal partners, my lifelong friends, Christina and Linda, and our brilliantly talented writers, actors, and crew. I'm incredibly grateful to Netflix for supporting Dead To Me from day one.
I will miss these ladies wrote Christina Applegate on Twitter . But we felt that this was the best way to connect these women's history. Thank you to all the fans. We'll get back to work when it's safe. Much love.

Then there was a certain point when we were producing on season two when the end of the show came to me, pretty profound, she added. So I realized, 'I know the story I have to tell' and season 3 feels like the time is right for that. It's just something that came up organically and I tend to try to follow my gut instinct.
This show means so much to me and I just want to get it right and I've seen a way to do it. I think three seasons for this show is the right amount.
While many fans will be disappointed that the series is coming to an end so soon, season three promises to be a lot more breathtaking drama. So grab the glass of wine and make yourself comfortable.

Dead to Me's third season has been commissioned, but it is not yet known when it will launch on Netflix.
Almost exactly a year passed between the debut of the first season and the arrival of the second run, so under normal circumstances it can be assumed that there would be a similar void before a third episode.
Both the first and second seasons were released in May. But of course, given the difficult times we all had, everything takes a little longer than usual.
Everything considered RadioTimes.com predicts the third season of Dead to Me will hit Netflix in the second half of next year.
Feldman told The Hollywood Reporter, “We have a 20-week writer room this season, so we can't go into production until that is over anyway… We definitely wouldn't try to get back into production until December at the earliest .
We will keep this page updated with the latest news.
What won't happen is probably a better question. Dead to Me definitely knows how to surprise you.
As with the first series, the end of season two of Dead to Me was something of a cliffhanger - Judy and Jen found themselves in a car accident after colliding with Ben, leaving viewers with no idea whether it was intentional or accidental.
Season two ended with another shocking cliffhanger, so fans are hoping a third season will come sooner rather than later.
Feldman added: I introduced you to this ending and you seemed really excited about it. They never said, 'You might want to wrap it up.' We just do it that way and hope we get that next season. Plus, I didn't want to wrap a bow on it and give them a reason to maybe end it there.
Jen looks particularly badly injured from the incident, left mumbling in the rubble in the final scene.
When Der Hollywood-Reporter When asked if this suggests she will be fine, creator Liz Feldman said cryptically: I don't know if that's what you mean.
As for Steve's body and Ben, Marsden was also pretty cryptic when asked by them Television program .
This guy [Ben] is making a conscious effort to look at himself in the mirror when no one else is looking, I think, and doing the right thing, he said. Do the right thing when no one else is looking. But sometimes the forces can be overwhelming. And I think those are starting to condense and pile up for him, and I think this is going to be an interesting exploration in season three if we go there.
This could form the basis for season three, while we can also expect to see more of Jen's son Charlie, who by the end of season two knows far more about the murderous activities of Jen and Judy than he did after reading the letter, that Judy wrote, expected.
Speaking to GoldDerby, Cardellini admitted that you never know what could happen. I always say what I can think of, Liz always comes up with something a million times better and the authors. You think you know where they're going and they take another turn and you didn't see it coming. I am happy to find out.
If you're wondering how the whole series will end, Feldman said vulture she can change what she has in mind.
I had a version of an ending for season three that I'm actually rethinking because I think it's important to pay attention to where we are collectively as humanity and be sensitive to our audience living through this incredibly difficult moment in the history.
This experience will color what we will explore in season three. We are all going through a traumatic moment and this show is very much about trauma and grief and loss.
She added, I have some ideas about what I want to do with season three, but I like it when things feel organic and authentic, not just about what the characters are going through but what my audience can handle.
Given that they are the focus of the series, it seems unlikely that the show could go on without it Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini - so we can pretty much count on them to lead the cast of a potential third run.
Cardellini recently spoke and shared about how much she enjoyed playing the role of Judy Netflix queue 'It has so much darkness, but it has buoyancy and resilience.
She's thoughtful, but right now she's completely spontaneous. You can justify any of her bad behavior because she's just Judy. She does whatever she feels and that gets her into trouble. It is a delicious thing to play.
We can expect a majority of the supporting cast to return as well - especially James Marsden in his new role as Ben, Steve's half-identical brother - although some new faces could also be added. We will inform you as usual as soon as we have it.
Charlie (Sam McCarthy), Henry (Luke Roessler), Detective Ana Perez (Diana-Maria Riva), Nick (Brandon Scott), Jens 'neighbor Karen (Suzy Nakamura), Jens' former real estate partner Christopher (Max Jenkins), mother in -Law Lorna (Valerie Mahaffey) and Pastor Wayne (Keong Sim) are expected to return.
It looks like Michelle, played by Natalie Morales, won't be returning to the show. Poor judy.
Again, there's no trailer for the Dead to Me season three at this early stage, just wait for the news about the airing date first.advertising
